Pam the Funkstress, born Pam Warren, was the DJ for Oakland, Calif., hip-hop group The Coup and appeared on numerous albums. She also worked as Prince's personal DJ until his death. She grew up in Foster City, Calif., and attended Burlingame High School. She died on Dec. 22, 2017, after an illness.
