Duane Gay was born in Wisconsin on April 14, 1956. He was known as an award-winning journalist who touched countless lives with the stories he told. Duane joined WISN-TV as a general assignment reporter in 1993. He was best known for his reporting in the weekly news segments "It's Your Money" and "The Inside Story." For a short time, Duane co-anchored Channel 12's morning news with WISN-TV's Sally Severson. After being diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer in the late '90s, Duane went on medical leave. However, he continued to provide periodic, inspirational updates on his medical condition and experimental cancer treatments. Prior to joining Channel 12, Duane served as news director at Milwaukee's WVTV (1988-1993) and as an anchor/reporter at Green Bay's WLUK-TV (1984-1988) and Wausau's WAOW-TV (1982-1984). Before moving into television, he worked as a radio reporter and anchor at WLPX and WBCS in Milwaukee, WYTL and WOSH in Oshkosh and WIZM in La Crosse. He earned a mass communications degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
