Born in Paris. Producer, actor, scriptwriter, director, cinematographer, photographer, artistic director of Pocketstudio films. Philippe Chalem begins by making photographs in silver and black and white. In parallel with his work as a photographer, Philippe Chalem began making independent short and avant-garde films. Philippe Chalem is the executive producer, director of photography, director and author of all his films. In 2019, Chalem finished his first feature film entitled Lazare. The filming of this experimental movie has been spread over several years in Brazil, Romania, Berlin and Paris. Lazare explores the themes of Identity and artistic creation. With his second feature film Natalia, Philippe Chalem returns to traditional fiction.
