A writer and director Naoki Maeda started his career as an assistant director/production manager in a Japanese Commercial productions company 'Yes Open' from 2001. While working at the production company, he made two self-funded commercials including ('Mr. Domoto?'), nominated for the super short film mobile-phone competition 2006. Naoki entered the London Film Academy in 2005 to learn the whole filmmaking process including Screenwriting, Directing, Cinematography, Sound Recording, Editing and Producing. During the course, he directed two short films ('a distance'- invited Tokyo Box Garden), ('Needlewood Antiques') and a commercial, he also wrote a short film ('Wish'). Naoki won the Grand Prize at The Fourth ASCII film competition in Japan for his short film ('The doll'). His graduation film ('Needlewood Antiques') was selected in competition at the 'Australian International Film Festival', the'Marbella International Film Festival ' and 'The Movie Trailer Showdown Competition'. He is currently developing a number of projects as writer/director.
