Kate Kroll is a multi-skilled, award-winning filmmaker with a passion for storytelling and following the thread. A truth and justice seeker, she is always excited to dive into a subject that no one wants to talk about. With over ten years of experience producing both documentary and narrative, Kate aims to bring stories to life that move and inspire, along with cultivating change in individuals and society as a whole. Her work has screened on Crave, CBC Gem, CTV, Super Channel, APTN and Vision TV. She is the recipient of the 2021 CMPA Indiescreen Kevin Tierney Emerging Producer Award for her work on the Indigenous dramedy, 'Portraits From a Fire' (dir. Trevor Mack/Telefilm/Photon Films) which screened on 33 Landmark and Cineplex theatres across Canada and won 5 Leo Awards. In 2018, Kate was the recipient of the WFF 'Women on Top' mentorship which partnered with the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media. Most recently, Kate finished production on the CBC Gem series, 'Future Futures' (Screen Siren Pictures) and the reality dating series 'Farming For Love' (Lark Productions/CTV). She is in Production on the feature documentary, 'Lunatic' (Telefilm/Raven Banner Ent.) and is developing the Telefilm-funded drama, 'What Comes Next' (Telefilm/Game Theory Films) as well as the genre-bending historical documentary, 'At The Penthouse'. Kate is president of her boutique production company, Black Moon Media.
