Actress and Producer, Lisa Mueller, has been active in front of, and behind the camera of independent film since 2007. Lisa actually began a career in Engineering, and was successful in the profession for over 10 years. She left the stable and lucrative job in 2010, to boldly pursue a full time career as an Actress, her long time passion. This passion started at the age of 9 when her mother immersed her active child into community creative classes. Growing up near Flint, Michigan she had many options to expand her love for the creative arts, so she sampled many classes including creative writing, drawing, dance, and of course, community theater. As Lisa was nearing the end of her high school career, her mother insisted that Lisa first pursue a college degree in something outside of the creative arts. Having grown up in Michigan herself, the thought of entering the entertainment industry was foreign, and did not seem stable. At that time Lisa had found pleasure in the craft of Drafting, and along with her interest in Math she decided to enroll at Michigan Technological University to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During her college years Lisa took a break from acting. She instead focused on receiving her bachelor's degree, and taking electives in business which would come in handy later. Having held on to her young acting experience through this time, she immediately returned to local theater upon her graduation. Lisa balanced her passion for acting with maintaining her career as an Engineering Manager for many years. Then, in 2007 she got her first film break with a short student film. At this point, Lisa left behind the stage to focus strictly on film, and after five years of doing short films, and local TV, she was offered her first Producing job with the short film, After Visiting Hours. It was during this experience that Lisa found her previous life as an Engineer was a valuable asset to the filmmaking community, and her long years of managing high budget projects was just the kind of experience needed when wanting to manage the details of a film project. After three years of juggling acting, producing, and engineering, Lisa left her engineering career behind and entered the film industry full time. As Lisa continued with her now dual career in acting and producing, she also took on other behind the scenes jobs ranging from Boom Operator, to 1st AD, props and more because she felt she needed to fully understand these positions before attempting to manage them. These experiences were just the hands on training she needed to really develop her Producing skills, and they taught her that filmmaking is not an "anything goes, just get it in the can", kind of endeavor. Ever the passionate learner, Lisa continues to pursue all types of filmmaking jobs, and is even experimenting in screenwriting. Her expanding interests aside, she has fine tuned her main focus between a growing acting career, and an ever expanding Producing career.
