As a Music Director, Kim has worked along side many notable music directors like Ricky Minor, Ray Chew and Shelia E. In 2008 Kim's involvement as Creative Music Dir for the historical Grammy Performance of Beyonce and Tina Turner, was documented and placed on a visual display by the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, CA. Kim was dubbed the full composer of the Musical Movie entitled "Leave It On The Floor". She is the current Creative Music Director for BET's Black Girls Rock and has held this position since 2011. Kim works consistently crafting artist's show music and vocals for Ciara, Brandy, Jennifer Lopez and more. Most recently Kim was appointed as the Creative Music Director for Jennifer Lopez' "All I Have" Las Vegas Residency and continues to work with JLo on various performances from television to the live stage. At the early age of 7 Kim began music lessons and knew that she would be involved with music for the rest of her life! She went on to be a child prodigy and started playing in church and traveling at age 12. She would later become the first Junior student at Roswell High in Roswell, Ga. to hold the position of Student Orchestra Conductor. This position in the past was only made available to graduating Seniors. Kim went on to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. After a brief stay at Berklee Kim knew she had a deeper passion to make it into the industry more than just playing. She went back to her home town of Atlanta, Ga. to pursue an Assoc. Degree in Entertainment Management from the Music Business Institute. She graduated at the top of her class and it didn't take long before Kim landed her first internship at the legendary Motown Records while Berry Gordy was still the operating CEO. Once at Motown Records Kim started working in sales, tracking all of the Southeast Region and later to MCA, where you found her spearheading the promotions and marketing department as the National Coordinator in radio and retail. After five years with MCA Records. Kim successfully climbed the ladder and became A&R Manager at Sony Music in 1993. At Sony, Ms. Burse was instrumental in the careers of such acts as; Dionne Farris, Da Brat, Xscape, and the one and only Destiny's Child. After being with Sony, Ms, Burse later decided to bring it back home to Atlanta and independently shopped new talent for various labels. In 2001, Matthew Knowles of Music World Music reunited with Kim at a Music Conference and offered her a position that one could not refuse. Within a few weeks Kim was in Houston, TX at Music World Music as Creative A&R Director where she developed and managed the department. Kim Burse has help create, produce and market over 10 albums throughout her career. These albums have generated over $100 million in revenue for such companies as Motown, MCA, Sony and Columbia Records. A variety of these projects have surpassed the "Gold" 500,000 and "Platinum" 1,000,000 sales levels and earned industry recognition through Grammy Awards, Soul Train Awards, BET Awards or the local pub awards. A plethora of her other talents have been used by major networks and companies such as Logo/MTV, NBC and CBS.
