Darren A. Furniss

Darren was born in Nottingham, East Midlands UK, 1976. He has a BA (Hons) Degree in Drama. Darren originally wanted to become an Actor, but during his time at University he discovered his absolute passion as a Writer and Director. His first play, Going Down, was produced and premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2008. Since graduating in 2009 Darren has produced, written and directed several independent new productions, performance events, and play readings; promoting original and professional theatre work, practice and performance exploration in theatre and film. His main passions are to develop new and exciting worlds through writing, and to work with actors, exploring the craft of acting in theatre and film. His debut feature film thriller, Damaged (2014) received Three International Film Festival Awards, including Best Picture 2015 (Atlas & Aeris). He spends his time developing new projects for film and theatre and runs experimental acting workshops for actors.
