Deborah Shipley

Deborah Shipley was born in Kenya on 13 November 1955 and was raised in South Africa, where she took part in multi-racial theatre groups performing anti-Apartheid plays. In the 1980s she moved to Britain where she managed an alternative medicines centre as well as becoming involved in documentary film making with the company she founded Lauderdale Productions. in 1995 she and husband Brian Young founded the True Vision film company, their television documentary 'Orphans of Nkandla' winning a BAFTA award. Deborah died of cancer on 22 11 2015.
