Born in Yorkshire, UK. Father was a heavy plant contractor in Middle East and former professional rugby player, mother was a radiographer, model and gymnast. Grew up in Saudi Arabia and Yorkshire. Started acting as a child, former member of the National Youth Music Theatre, UK. Met husband Henry Jacobson when they were students at Oxford. Travelled widely as a child and taught English in India and Malaysia during a years deferral from commencing University. Has one sister, younger, a lawyer and charity fund-raiser. Went to school and is good friends with actresses Christina Cole, Frances Millar and Roo Jhala. Was working in London and had no intention to move to Los Angeles before she married Henry Jacobson, who is originally from New York/Los Angeles.
