Williamson was born in the UK in 1967, raised there and in Canada, and then in the US. He enlisted in the US Air Force at 18, shortly after becoming a US citizen. He spent 25 years in the US military, between Air Force, Army, active duty and National Guard. He deployed for Operation Desert Fox and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He retired from the military in 2010. Based on his broad background, he writes military and contemporary fiction and has several genre bestsellers and awards. He advises on weapons and technical matters for films, and also makes or provides a wide variety of weapons, both reproduction and original. He was formerly married to Gail L. Sanders, and is the father of Morrigan Sanders and Eric Bryan Williamson.
