Ashley Joyce (born Ashley Joyce Bush) was born into a Steel working family on the outskirts of Pittsburgh PA. From an early age she would learn the values of hard work, humor, and community involvement. Being the youngest in the family behind two "Jock" older brothers, she sought theater and performance as a way to gain attention and to get noticed. The family relocated to Northwest Indiana, 40miles southwest of Chicago, as her father searched for work in the mills to support the family. By the time Ash reached high school she was consistently landing parts in high school musical theater performances and community theater...playing Rizzo, Reno,....Etc and as the front woman for the ska band Post 20. After a short time at Purdue University, she made the move to Chicago to pursue her acting profession full time, studying at The Actors Studio of Chicago, The Second City Conservatory and finishing Theatre and Psychology studies at DePaul University. Ashley performed for a decade in Chicago owning her own theatre company, studying comedy, acing in dramatic and musical theatre as well as independent film and commercials. Finding her place in the grassroots, rough an tumble, acting scene of Chicago lead her to a very well rounded body of work while she never isolated her endeavors to one facet of the Chicago theatre community. She landed many roles small theater companies, and became an ensemble member with the Cupid Players, the longest running musical Sketch Comedy show in Chicago. She also scored work with national campaigns for Crate and Barrel, and regionally with Steak and Shake as well as a brand ambassador & spokes model at Comicon and conventions hitting the windy city. She has played roles is several Chicago area films. Ashley is an Equity actor who also travels to perform in regional theaters across the country. After relocating to Los Angeles in the spring of 2014, Ashley has began to write and focus on her film work while also continuing to study comedy and lend her talents to the growing theatre scene in LA. She is collaborating to produce and write several pilots and continues to pursue work as an actor.
