City of birth : Los Angeles, California, USA

Joaquin Montalvan is the Writer, Editor, and Director of "Cannibal Corpse Killers" and also plays the craziest character in the film, the "Psychotic Drifter". Known as the "Salvador Dali of Horror" by his fans, he is oft quoted as saying that "A film without Blood, is like a marriage without Sex". Upon having finished the Cult, Grindhouse film "Legend of the Hillbilly Butcher" he wanted to make a film with that aesthetic on a larger scale in an Apocalyptic landscape, with a Western flavor, Horror elements, and this group of 5 people going around the landscape, killing... At a recent Son of Monsterpalooza panel Q and A, he was asked about his cinematic inspirations for the film, and he answered, "It was a kind of a mash-up, a genre mash-up, you mentioned Apocalyptic, Horror, Western, so, basically, it's like "Apocalypse Now", "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly", and "Dawn of the Dead." Born in Alhambra, California and raised in Pasadena, California, Montalvan took a trip to India when he was 15 and was handed a camera by his Father and told to take pictures, which was the beginning of his lifelong obsession with photography. Montalvan is presently working on a Biker film, and a documentary on an idiosyncratic and controversial artist.
