Anthony Whelan (born June 27, 1979) is an Irish business and entertainment executive (producer and entertainment manager). He is the Chief Executive Officer of Whelan Enterprises and Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of Group Management (division of Whelan Enterprises), which owns Irish entertainment company Shadowhawk Entertainment, co-owner of Irish business, food, hospitality and leisure company Jayan Management and is the charity founders and principal sponsor of Irish not-for-profit charity The Brendan Whelan Foundation. Whelan studied at DCU in Dublin, Ireland and he started his career in the industry in 1998 when he promoted a murder mystery weekend and managed a music festival in Co.Meath, Ireland. His first break into the entertainment industry came when RTE Producer/Director, Brian Eustace connected with Whelan following a submission he had made to the Irish Television Broadcasting Studio. Through Eustace, who mentored him, he began gaining experience on film and television projects such as the MTV Europe Music Awards (1999) held in Dublin, Ireland, Crush Proof (1998), Veronica Guerin (2003) and Most Haunted (2004). Whelan parted company from Eustace in 2006 to concentrate on his own entertainment company which was launched in 1996 and he formed a business partnership with Byrne Enterprises. Since 2006 his entertainment company Shadowhawk Entertainment has grown and presently houses a motion picture, television and animation production company, a record label, music publishing, concert and touring production company, an entertainment management company, publishing company, scouting and development company, live entertainment company and leisure entertainment company.
