Actor Anthony Aibel, a former musical director known for his Kennedy Center appearances and his Grammy-Nominated recording 'Area 31', returned to his acting roots when he made cameo appearances in productions directed by Oscar winners Martin Scorsese and Costa-Gavras. After graduating from Juilliard, he was invited by NBC to be a guest on 'Live at Five', and began freelancing with ICM Artists (now known as ICM Partners). He has acted in numerous theatre productions as well as written-produced several film projects. In 2014 and 2015, he briefly returned to musicals on Broadway, filling in as a musician in Bernstein's 'On the Town' at the Lyric Theatre. Aibel has been invited to give acting master classes since 2016, and since the onset of Covid-19, his work with actors online has grown in worldwide popularity. In March, 2020, he starred in a TV pilot alongside Emmy/Tony Award winner and Oscar Nominee Judd Hirsch (Taxi, Ordinary People, Uncut Gems, The Goldbergs). Anthony Aibel was born in New York City to pianist/master class professor Olegna Fuschi and pianist Howard Aibel. His uncle is the entertainment attorney Donald J. Aibel, and he has two cousins who are also in the entertainment industry: casting director Douglas Aibel and DreamWorks writer/producer Jonathan Aibel. At the age of six, Aibel landed his first lead role in a play while a student at the Riverdale Country School, Alma mater of John F. Kennedy. He continued getting lead roles in most of the school's plays and musicals, several directed by Emmy winner Ian Ellis James. At age eight, he began to sing professionally in the children's chorus of the Metropolitan Opera, and at age 11, he was a vocal soloist at Lincoln Center. At age 16, Anthony Aibel was one of the youngest college students ever accepted to the Juilliard School, where he studied music directing, acting, voice and other mediums, earning his Master's Degree along with the nickname "Master of Some." He also studied acting with legendary acting teacher/director Terry Schreiber (mentor to Edward Norton, Maria Bello, and Peter Sarsgaard, among others). He was accepted into the Juilliard exchange program with Columbia University, where he studied literature and philosophy, and accepted into Tanglewood at age 21, where he studied with five-time Oscar Winner John Williams and with Leonard Bernstein, best known for 'On the Town' and 'West Side Story'. At the age of 23, Aibel became one of the youngest professional music directors in the United States, often acting or narrating while on the podium, attributes that made him unique. He was a speaker and performer at seven events in Carnegie Hall, as well as for shows at the State University of New York at Purchase. One show had Aibel leading the soundtrack of John Williams' 'Star Wars' with a light saber while doing voice-overs for the part of Darth Vader. At 29, he was invited to perform at The Kennedy Center in shows that featured legends such as Rosemary Clooney and EGOT winner Rita Moreno.
