Johnny D. Boyd is the third oldest of six children, he comes from very humble beginnings. Born and raised in East St. Louis, Illinois, he has faced many, many hardships in life and often thought the word "no" was his middle name. Painfully enough, he learned to receive that negative energy and turn it into positive situations. He played college football and attended the University of Memphis and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Law and a Minor in Theater. In 1998, Johnny tried out unsuccessfully with the Atlanta Falcons and later with the Carolina Panthers making it all the way to their camps before being released. He also played two seasons in the Arena Football League, before hanging up his cleats. In 2001, Johnny joined the Centreville Police Department and in 2005 became a member of the Highway Patrol as a State Trooper. He retired from law enforcement to pursue an acting career. On August 1st. 2005, Johnny stepped out on faith and moved to LA. to film his first movie "Ripple Effect" with Forrest Whittaker, his first role led to a second film, "Voodoo Dolly", filmed in October 2005, he played the role of a contract killer. His third appearance was on Spike TV's sport program "Pros vs. Joes" 2006, he had the honor of running Jerry Rice's pass routes. He also had a small speaking role in the film "Reno 911 the Movie." Although there are many actors and actress that he loves. It is Denzel Washington who inspires him to act. In May 2006, Johnny started his own independent production company, "From The Bottom Up Production" and plans to act in the film and play the role of "Tony Jordan" an abusive husband. He has two other scripts which he has written waiting in the wings, he says that he only wants to be successful and through God's blessing he's giving it everything he's got. He lives in Los Angeles, California with his daughter T.J.
