Scott Hallgren is a composer, musician, and sound editor. Over the last decade, Scott's scores have served a diverse and successful group of independent films and television programs, and have received critical acclaim. Of note, "Frank" (2020) won an Independent Horror Movie Award for Best Music, "Perfect 36: How Women Won The Vote" (2017) on PBS won a Bronze Telly; "Sith'D", a short Star Wars spoof, won Best Comedy at Comic-Con (2006); "Gracie: diary of a coma patient" (2010) won a Silver Medal for Music Excellence at the Park City Film Music Festival; and the mid-South Emmy-nominated "We Shall Not Be Moved: the Nashville Sit-Ins" (2011) which also won both a Silver Telly & Golden CINE Award. His music has also been featured on the soundtracks of Smart People, London Tango, Self Offense, The History Detectives, and Paul Williams - Still Alive. Not content to accept mediocre audio tracks, Scott started Scootman Music & Audio Production, a full service post audio company, for movies, TV, video games, multimedia, and the internet. He has served as a producer and sound editor for voiceovers, ADR, music, Foley, and sound design on commercials, shows, and films for clients as diverse as: Exxon/Mobil, Enzyte, IcyHot, Scholastic, FedEx, The Documentary Channel, Reynolds American, regional network TV affiliates, Caterpillar, the Nashville Film Festival, and Ridiculous Software. An early interest in music and film led to him to study both at the University of Miami (Florida). After graduation, Scott relocated to Nashville, and ultimately served as Donna Summer's musical director and pianist. He also toured with Margaret Becker, The Wilkinsons, and Fernando Ortega, after a stint in Steve Wariner's band. He has traveled to over a dozen countries on four continents, performing on concert stage and broadcast, supporting other artists such as: Sir Elton John, Aaron Neville, Andrae Crouch, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Skaggs, Eddy Arnold, Brian Littrell (of Backstreet Boys), David Foster, Larry Gatlin, Jaimee Paul, and Marc Antony. Scott's varied talents as an arranger, composer and performer have also been featured on numerous albums by artists such as: Donna Summer, the history & genre spanning This Is My America (Various Artists), new age artist Seay, and Texas guitar hero Monte Montgomery.
