Oliverio Gareli was born on September 13th 1966 in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, in the bosom of a traditional Mexican family, when his parents had been married for 20 years. He is the only child of Oliverio Garza and Abelia Elizondo. Raised and educated in Monterrey, Oliverio got a Business Degree from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in 1987. In 1990, he studied English as a second language at the University of Houston Downtown. Back home he worked for leading industrial corporations as an accountant until 1996. Eager to develop his artistic potential, Oliverio got interested in Interior Design and learned this profession by working for top interior designers in the U.S. Before becoming an actor, Oli -as nicknamed by his closest friends- designed the scenery of some important theatre plays in Monterrey and worked as set decorator for TV Azteca Noreste, where in 2004 he was given the opportunity to appear on television in Con M de mujer (2002 TV talk show) once a week for almost a year. Encouraged by this event, he decided to begin his acting studies in The Film Workshops in Monterrey, where he successfully completed his education and was regarded as one of the most talented students of his generation. Gareli continued his artistic training with Lupita P. Kababié, David Páez and 'Claudia Frías' There Is No Pain in Paradise (1995), the latter being an experienced and well known actress in Monterrey who became Oliverio's personal coach. Oliverio Gareli played several roles in institutional videos, TV commercials and short films which in turn paved the way for his movie debut in Entre caníbales (2007) a drama directed by Rodrigo González alongside Mexican actors Plutarco Haza, Gabriela Canudas, Regina Orozco Deep Crimson (1996) and Roberto Sosa among others.
