Annette Westwood is an award-winning Actress/Writer/Director from the West Midlands. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, UK, she grew up in Shropshire, her father was a Royal Naval Artificer and her mother worked for the Police Service. Only a few days after Annette was born, her father went to serve in the Falklands War, leaving her mother to care for her and her elder sister, Catherine. Annette is the middle of three sisters, and has Irish ancestry. After studying acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RSAMD), in Glasgow, she gained her first professional acting role whilst still studying, appearing in Rebus, the British television detective drama series based on the novels of Ian Rankin. Annette has since worked across Film, Television, Radio and Theatre, including working on productions for the BBC, ITV and SMG. Annette and her younger sister Emma (The Westwood Sisters) set up production company Hawkwood Productions and completed their first film collaboration together, the multi award-winning short film Whoever You Are... (2018), which sees Annette making her film directorial debut. After a highly successful festival run, the film went on to receive worldwide distribution with American entertainment company IndieFlix, through its global streaming service.
