A former California crime reporter, Will Tizard grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, taking to the stage at Arcadia High School and the Scottsdale Center for the Arts with an apparent knack for character roles, especially dotty butlers, judges and miscreants. The role of Henry David Thorough inspired him to seek out a career in storytelling and truth seeking, leading to theater, film and journalism studies at Northwestern University. After a year in London mainly spent at arthouse cinemas studying up on auteur greats and film noir, he moved to San Francisco, working his way up in the media world via community access TV and Bay Area newspapers, leading to enterprise reporting honors from the Associated Press News Executive Council for coverage of domestic violence in Vacaville. Following his ouster at the LA Daily News during a spate of lay-offs, he relocated to Prague, where he forged a career as a travel writer, documentarian, university lecturer and film and TV actor.
