Carlos Martin

Carlos Martin is an American Actor, Singer, Dancer, Director, and Choreographer. He was born in the city of Lynwood California, the middle of three boys, to parents Jim and Kathy Martin. His family moved a lot while he was growing up, so he learned to adapt and make friends easily. He was involved in sports from a young age, playing basketball, football, track and field and lettering in cross country in his high school years. His interest in the arts was passed on from his mother, who was herself and actress. From a young age, he and his older brother Jimmie would write and produce plays for the neighborhood. His first staring role was Peter, in Peter cottontail. His first real role that made him open his eyes to how the arts can touch another was the role of Jesus in Godspell. A woman, came to him after the show and went on to explain how he touched her. This same type of experience would happen years later when a couple approached him after a show when he played Ricky Ricardo. At the age of 16 he was approached by a classmate about joining choir. She had braces, so he auditioned. There he learned to sing and love music. He later went to a college recommended by a drama teacher that focused on music, and voice. It was at Citrus College that he became a travel buff. His film and television work is mostly indie work. He is known for his ability to encompass a role and become the character. In both stage and on camera work, he is best known for his roles as the best friend, side kick or villain. You can always count on him to make a fool of himself or make you shake in your boots. He has studied with and played opposite some of the best in the business, and is frequently asked, "Do I know you?"
