Bastian Michael saw the light of a clear and sunny day on the 31st of January 1981. As a son of an architect and a business woman, he grew up in the heart of the Industrial Ruhr Area of western Germany. After successfully finishing his Abitur Qualifications at the Waldorf School of Essen, the German Army was calling for him to do his one year service time. He refused and changed it into a social working year abroad working with the children of the local Waldorf School of San Diego. In the waves of the Pacific Ocean Bastian discovered his passion for surfing and, just a mere 62 miles away from Hollywood, he savoured his first experiences in film acting. Soon after he left for Berlin to study at the Acting School of Berlin's four year program. There he worked with accomplished teachers and became a professional stage- and film actor. Parallel to his studies he was involved in several Theater and Filmproductions, including an appearance on the world famous stage of the Berliner Ensemble. In November 2006 he finished his acting school successfully and started to work for TV and Theatre right away. He has been involved in several international productions, covering theatre - like his work with the Brazilian director Marcos de Souza - as well as film - like the video installation under the direction of the internationally known Belgian artist Ana Torfs. After two years at the Theatre of Marburg, where he starred in several plays including his acclaimed interpretation of Thomas Buddenbrook, Bastian Michael decided to walk on as a freelancer in summer 2009. Besides his work as an Film and Theatre actor he also works as a speaker for Radio and Commercials. Bastian Michael lives in Berlin, Germany.
