Steven Jepson has enjoyed a wide variety of singing, acting, and teaching experience, spanning almost three decades. He made his European debut as Escamillo in Carmen, his signature role, and has reprised the role throughout the Americas. He has sung with Opera Carolina, Des Moines Metro Opera, Virginia Opera, Long Leaf Opera, Chicago Opera Theater, Glimmerglass Opera, Sarasota Opera, and Texas Opera Theater, among others. His made his Carnegie Hall solo debut in the Schubert Mass in G. His concert repertoire includes Handel's Messiah, Vaughan Williams' Sea Symphony, the Verdi Requiem, and the U.S. premiere of the Dobrogosz My Rose - A Shakespeare Oratorio. Musical Theater work includes leading roles in Carousel, South Pacific, Sweeney Todd, and Man of La Mancha. He performed as principal singer in productions with Norwegian Cruise Lines. Among his modeling and commercial work, he has been in numerous major studio motion pictures, and created the role of Admiral Slater in the award-winning independent Star Trek film Prelude to Axanar. Mr. Jepson has been on the faculty at Graceland College, Benedictine University, College of DuPage, Iowa Wesleyan College, and Gaston School of the Arts, where he also served as director of the Gaston Playhouse. He is now a member of the voice faculty at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Steven B. Jepson received his B.Mus. degree from the University of Iowa, his M.Mus. degree from Louisiana State University, and his DMA in Vocal Performance/Pedagogy and Opera Directing from the University of Iowa. He is preparing a CD which will include the complete recording of a rare song cycle by French composer Marcel Delannoy.
