John Boccia

Jonnie Boccia (John Joseph Boccia) was born in Manhattan's Little Italy in 1963 to Tom and Mary Boccia. Attended Rocky Point High School out in Suffolk Co, Long Island. After high school he moved to Clearwater Beach, Florida. There he landed a spot with the Suncoast Chippendale male dance team. Soon after he started looking to get into the movie business. And in 1985 John and some co-workers were cast as extras in two motion pictures shooting in Florida: Summer Rental (Beach scene) and Cocoon (Nightclub dance scene). Even when he was growing up in Manhattan seeing movies and TV pilots Being filmed in his local neighborhoods he knew he wanted to be in the entertainment business. Things were starting to fall together. But soon after John met Cindy Mountjoy and their relationship started to get serous. Now at a crossroads. There were two choices, follow his career or follow his heart. Well, he learned at a young age to follow your heart. So in March of 1989 John and Cindy were married. Out of respect for his new wife John left the dance team, taking a job with Time Warner. On November 12, 1990 Cindy gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Brittany. Now the young couple was a family. In July 1999 They were ready for a change, they sold everything they owned and headed west with a Jeep and a Motor home, settling in the Rockie Mountains of Utah. One year later they opened Boccia's D'Italia New York Italian Restaurant. The Restaurant was a success becoming People's choice for 2003, 04, 05, 06, and 07. In 2004 John met Lou Diamond Philips on the set of Dead Rail. After long talks about his past, Lou inspired John to pursue his dream. So with the advice of his new friend and the support of his wife, he started acting classes in Salt lake City, where he landed a part as Clyde Vager in an Independent film, Dickie Smalls, that showed at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. In mid-2006 he was asked to do the prop food in another production being filmed in Ogden, Utah. While on set he met Jane Seymour and James Keach who gave him a role in their picture. This roll being Taft Hartlied by Jane Seymour earned him his SAG. Currently John is working on three of his own scripts with co-writer Rawn Hutchinson who was stunt cord for Halloween 2007.
