Jane Quigley was born in Hamilton, Scotland and graduated in Russian and French Language and Literature (BA Hons) from the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) and Kings College, University of London 1983. She is an experienced Director/Producer and also Managing Director/Executive Producer of QuigleyFilm Ltd. Jane has had an international career in the UK, USA, and Russia in both documentary and drama. Her production career started in Atlanta, GA as Unit Producer for the Portrait of the World series, created by Ted Turner (CNN and Superstation TBS) on the landmark 7 hour ethnographic series Portrait of the Soviet Union, presented by Roy Scheider (Jaws, Marathon Man). She was then Unit Producer of the 4 hour series Portrait of Great Britain, presented by John Forsythe (Dynasty). She worked on specials like Larry King's Night of Soviet Television and developed Portrait of Castro's Cuba, presented by James Earl Jones (Dr Strangelove, Star Wars). During Jane's time at TBS, she was Assistant Producer of the TV Movie Chernobyl - The Final Warning produced by Carolco (Rambo), starring John Voight (Midnight Cowboy) and Jason Robards(All the President's Men) for TNT Turner Movies which was shot on location in Moscow, Ukraine, and Los Angeles. Jane was Line Producer on the feature film The Ice Runner (1992), starring Eddie Albert Jr and Olga Kabo, which was shot in the Russian Arctic Circle for Mosfilm Studios/Gold Leaf International. Jane returned to work in the UK on The Big Race - The Ford Overland Challenge, an 8 part series for ITV/Meridian, as key location fixer in Siberia for the international team of divers racing from London via the Bering Strait to New York. She then went on to produce and direct the documentaries Radioactive and Reeling and The Long Road to Recovery for BBC World; these were about the environmental legacy of the Chernobyl Disaster in Ukraine and Belarus. From 2008 to 2011, Jane was Flying Producer for Fremantle Worldwide Drama and supervised the production of, principally, The IT Crowd in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and the Czech Republic. She was also Head of Production, Talkback Thames Scotland which produced Hole in the Wall(Series 2) for the BBC and developed 1001 Things You Should Know for C4 and Break the Safe for BBC1. Prior to her executive roles at these companies, Jane was Head of Jones the Film, Scotland Rob Brydon's (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, I'm Alan Partridge) production company which developed the spoof documentary Rob Brydon's Identity Crisis for BBC4 and Annually Retentive for BBC2. Jane is Russia Consultant on Vinnie Jones: Russia's Toughest for National Geographic Channel, produced by Tern Television for TX (due Autumn 2013). Until February 2013 she was Executive Producer for Millarworld Productions, owned by award-winning comic-book writer Mark Millar (Kick Ass, Wanted). In December 2011, she was invited by Mark to establish his production arm and secured their first TV commission for BBC Scotland, Pavilion of Dreams.
