Alexander Rapoport is an international film, TV, and theatre actor, as well as singer working in the United States and Russia. He has starred in more than 100 film and TV productions, Christian Slater, Malcolm McDowelll, Eric Roberts, Rutger Hauer, Cole Hauser, Michael Madsen, Armand Assante, Sean Young being among his partners. His most recent film and TV credits include leading roles in Londongrad (2015), Chtets (2015), Chuzhoe litso (2012), Assassins Run (2013), "The Spring", "Be With Me", "Juna", "The Communal Apartment", "Heat", and many others. He has had lead roles in a number of theatre productions in New York City and Moscow, most recently in "Autumn Sonata" by Ingmar Bergman and "Enemies. Love Story" by Isaac Bashevis Singer, both at the Moscow Sovremennik Theatre. He has also been hosting several TV and Radio Shows, such as "Mirror" on RTN TV in New York City, dealing with people's psychological problems, "An Hour To Midnight" on Silver Rain Radio, Moscow, and "Male Zone" on Russia's TVC TV. He was born on April 1, 1947 in Bulgaria. Soon thereafter his family moved to Saint Petersburg, Russia (then Leningrad, USSR). He graduated from Perm Medical Institute, Russia, majoring in Psychiatry. At that time he also began his acting studies with a well-known actor-director Pyotr Velyaminov. In 1990, he moved to the United States. There, he created his TV Show "Mirror" on RTN TV in New York City and recorded his first CD, mastered at BMG Studios, New York City, as a singer and produced his first music video. He got his acting training at The Lee Strasberg Theater & Film Institute in New York City, Anna Strasberg, David Strasberg, Tom Badal, Robert Hallak, and David Gideon being among his acting teachers. He also took acting master classes with Al Pacino, Michael Caine, and Ned Bellamy. In 2002 he came to Moscow for the presentation of his solo album and became one of the prizewinners of the Chanson Of The Year Competition in the Moscow Kremlin Palace. He has recorded three solo albums as a singer and continues touring with his performance programs around the world. His popular psychological training programs and master classes on interpersonal and marriage relationships continue to attract a great number of audiences. He lives in New York City and Moscow, Russia.
