LYNNE ROBINSON BIOGRAPHY Lynne Robinson, CEO and Executive Producer of Black Robin Media, is an award-winning producer, director and writer in the media and communications industry. With an expertise in sports, pop culture, history and public affairs programming, Ms. Robinson's work is known for empowering and inspiring audiences through the stories of women and African Americans who have shaped our world. Ms. Robinson has earned credits on several television series, specials, documentaries and audio programming including Editorial Producer of the recently released Audible Originals Daymond John: Founding FUBU featuring entrepreneur, author and star of ABC's Shark Tank Daymond John's captivating personal stories about New York's hip-hop scene in the 90's and how his passion for rap culture led he and three of his childhood friends to start the iconic fashion label FUBU. She was the Executive Producer of the recent Viacom/Smithsonian Channel documentary Reclaiming History: Our Native Daughters based on the groundbreaking folk album Songs of Our Native Daughters, featuring Grammy award-winning artist Rhiannon Giddens, Leyla McCalla, Allison Russell and Amythyst Kiah and their first American tour. She was Executive Producer and Director of AspireTV's series Icons, Idols and Influencers featuring Host comedian Chris Spencer's one-on-one interviews with celebrities including Tracee Ellis Ross, Magic Johnson, Regina Hall and Lil Rel; Executive Producer of Steve Harvey: Act Like A Success, Think Like A Success, featuring TV host, author and comedian Steve Harvey performing a one-man show based on his best-selling book of the same name; and Executive Producer of the talk series Exhale featuring Co-hosts Issa Rae, Malinda Williams, Rene Syler, Angela Burt-Murray and Erin Jackson engaging in provocative conversation with celebrities and experts about today's hottest topics, including relationships, social justice, sexuality, faith and wellness. Her works also include the TV One special In Conversation: The Senator Barack Obama Interview, which as the Executive Producer, Producer and Director, Ms. Robinson won a 2008 NAACP Image Award. She followed up the success of this show, with In Conversation: The Michelle Obama Interview garnering a second NAACP Image Award in 2009. In addition, Ms. Robinson has produced and written numerous films and video projects in museums and exhibitions such as The National Civil Rights Museum, The Muhammad Ali Center, The William Jefferson Clinton Library, America I AM: The African American Imprint, the Smithsonian's Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing: How the Apollo Theater Shaped American Entertainment, The Basketball Hall of Fame and The Sports Museum of America. As Executive Producer and Director, she was honored to lead Black Robin Media's producers, writers, editors and designers in the production of 15 large-format films and media presentations featured in the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture Sports, Musical Crossroads, Taking the Stage and Power of Place permanent galleries. She is currently leading Black Robin Media in the production of the museum's upcoming exhibition on Afrofuturism. Ms. Robinson has also produced, directed and written digital content and marketing campaigns for companies and organizations including National Geographic Channel, PBS, Animal Planet, Discovery Health, BET, TV One, Walmart, Chrysler, Color Of Change, The Lupus Foundation of America, The Links, Incorporated, the Ron Brown Scholar Program, the DC Public Services Commission, and the DC Prevention Centers, among many others. Ms. Robinson began her career at ABC News in New York City on World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. She then joined the field of sports television at NBA Entertainment (NBAE). As a Producer and Senior Producer at NBAE, Ms. Robinson's works include the Emmy award-winning NBA at 50, a documentary hosted by Denzel Washington highlighting the history of the National Basketball Association and its players, as well as several commercials, public service announcements and on-air promo campaigns featuring NBA and WNBA players. She was also a Producer of The Team Up Celebration, an All-Star Weekend televised live performance featuring celebrities and athletes from around the world. Ms. Robinson has since produced and directed several other large-scale multi-media events, including live performances, galas, award shows, televised town halls, product launches and symposiums for clients such as the Crossroads Theatre Company, Nike, TV One, Black Women's Agenda, UpTV, Open Society Foundations, and the Black Women's Health Imperative. Ms. Robinson is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She has been active in several organizations committed to the growth and promotion of our youth, including serving as a member of the Washington D.C. chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, a founding board member of the City Collegiate Public Charter School, and a former board member of the Latin American Montessori Bilingual Public Charter School. Ms. Robinson graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in English Literature.
