Michael Biggam is a writer, actor, musician, comedian, producer and director, who was born in Manchester, England, and raised in the Lake District, south-west of the border between England and Scotland. He became interested in acting in his youth, performing in stage and outdoor theater and began to study acting and film. In 2001, while living in Manchester, Biggam acted in various student and short films, attending acting and film studies classes. Shortly after he joined Granada TV, local TV station in Manchester and began his career in professional film production. Biggam held positions in the AD Department in critically acclaimed TV shows up such as Shameless (UK), Early Doors, Mersey Beat and the Jane Austen period drama Mansfield Park and many others in drama, comedy and commercials. In UK features he worked as 2nd Assistant Director on the D.W. Mault art-house film Damascus, and 3rd Assistant Director positions on Route Irish and The Kings Speech. Prior to leaving England he began producing electronic music and as Old Man Mike and released the albums "Borealis Amanita" (2011) and "Dormants" (2012). Between 2009-2014 Biggam worked in Beijing, China in advertising as a copywriter and creative consultant in production of strategies in TV commercials and print. He hosted an internet music show Live Beijing Music, wrote for JIN Magazine and hosted 2 weekly bilingual radio shows broadcasting to over 10 million people. He also co-produced and hosted the pilot for "Sporting Season", a candid sports magazine program that featured former NFL footballer Jerry Rice. Alongside a close circle of film makers he developed numerous projects, writing the screenplay to Starry Eyes. It was in Beijing that he began performing comedy at various venues around the city, developing the comedy alter-ego Blatski Hellion and later met Ludi Lin, Chinese actor whose short film Cupids Middleman Biggam went on to direct. In 2014 he was featured in L'Officiel magazine about Beijing's most exciting emerging entrepreneurs. In 2015 Biggam wrote the script to Sugarfields and moved to Puerto Rico where he met his future-wife Yamnia Diaz. From 2018-2020 Biggam released 6 more albums as Old Man Mike, "Terra Enferma" (2018), "Supervoid", "Appetite For Reduction" (2019), "Quite Contrary", "Supervoid 2" and "Happy To You" (2020). Shortly after moving to Puerto Rico, Biggam co-founded CereProds, a film and video production services company catering to mainland US and international clients filming in Puerto Rico. With CereProds Biggam has produced hundreds of pieces of content and directed dozens of commercials and branded videos. On screen Biggam was cast in the third album series of the Sony Crackle drama Start-Up as a Canadian Financial Analyst and in the Netflix political thriller The Last Thing He Wanted as an expatriate mercenary. Biggam is the creator, writer, producer, director and voice artist of Arnold T. Fetus (coming to Amazon Prime) and continues to write and develop many other projects in film, TV and animation. His debut novel "Alex Fish" has been picked up by independent publishing company Grims Emporium and is due for release in 2020.
