Bill Buck made his first TV appearance on the PBS series "Race to Save the Planet" (1990). After forming a youth organization that helped shut down an illegal toxic waste dump near Orcutt, California, he gained national exposure and was featured in news segments and documentaries across the country. Buck won the President's Environmental Youth Award, presented by Ronald Reagan, and brought this recognition into an early career in environmental activism with Greenpeace. He edited a national newsletter and wrote feature stories for "E" Magazine and the New York Times Syndicate. Buck worked on a number of national environmental documentaries, including "No Time to Waste" (1990) -- nominated for an Academy Award -- and "Connect" (1997), a documentary airing on MTV. Buck is now producing a documentary series exploring how wildlife survives in urban areas, and is based in San Francisco, California.
