Raffie is the oldest of ten sisters and three brothers. Raffie started to show her passion for to the arts, music, theatre, dance, and acting at the age of eight years old. She learned oil painting, needle crafts, and embroidering through her maternal grandmother. In 1982, Raffie graduated from Huntington Park High School as outstanding student. She earned several Master Degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Film Production, Directing, Acting for Film, and Insurance and financial Advisor. In 2010 Raffie completed her film production education at the Colorado Film School in Denver Colorado. Raffie wrote several screenplays, which later she produced and directed her own Films. Among her productions are: Free Spirit (2008) short film nominated five time at the student film show for best production, best direction, best special effects and best music score, What Color is the Wind (2009) short film, Dear Grandma (2010) short film, Sombrero musical video (2010), Two Paths Meet, Calling all Angels, and Anawak musical short (2014) not to mention others. She also produced and directed several documentaries including "The Legacy of Rodolfo Corky Gonzales (2007)" , The DNC 2008 in Denver Colorado. (Democratic National Convention), Apache Freedom Run Documentary (2013). In 2016 Esparza Films and Free Spirit Films joined ventures to produce a long feature film, where Raffie was offered the opportunity to produce and direct her first feature. "The Mexican" Screenplay written by Pablo Esparza and Raffie Castellanos.
