Art Zapata was born in Los Angeles California. He grew up in East Los Angeles until the age of eleven and then moved to El Monte at the age of twelve. It was then that Zapata started writing short stories. His independent film, The Last Musketeer, is loosely based on his life story. Today, Zapata continues to live in Los Angeles with his wife and two sons.
