Helmi Dridi, actor born in Tunis in 1980, began his career as an actor in amateur theater at the age of 17. He continued his acting training at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art in Tunis, while proving himself in the professional theater in plays such as "Waiting for Godot" by Lassad Ben Abdallah, "Guernica" by Hassan Mouadhen, "Let us talk in silence" or "Hostages" by Ezzedine Gannoun. He made his debut as an actor in cinema with Nouri Bouzid "Clay Dolls", "Making Of". His meeting with the French director Jacques Malaterre in 2006 is decisive. The director assigned to him four leading roles in "The Rise of Man" film, after which the actor will move to France, and extend their collaboration with "Ao, the last Neanderthal" and "Carmen". Meanwhile he directed two theater projects "I love Africa" and "Zicoo" a play inspired by actual events, which tells the story of serial killer Roberto Succo Italian. Helmi Dridi directs his first documentary in 2011 with "My Mother's bread" shot in Toujane, a village in southern Tunisia. He continues along his way in drama, with Marc Saez for the play "A nu" adapted from a Sydney Lumet's film "Strip Search", and in the cinema with young creative directors like Youssef Chebbi "Vers le Nord", and renowned directors such as Jean-Jacques Annaud " Black Gold ".
