Patty was born in Weymouth Massachusetts in 1960 at The South Shore Hospital. She grew up in the working class neighborhood known as The Birches located on the edge of Whitmans pond. At an early age she began writing short stories and in 1970 her first story 'The Friendly Monster' was published. While trying to pass the time while skipping school at the age of 15, she was hanging out in Boston and walked into The Actors Workshop where she fell in love with the craft of acting and began being mentored by renowned acting coach Maxine Klein. In 1978 she enrolled at The Leland Powers School of Radio & Television in Boston. In 1982 she audition and was admitted to The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Searching for a more satisfying means of study she also enrolled at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Union Square NYC. There she met Elaine Aiken, Charlie Laughton, & Penny Allen, who she would continue to work with up until their deaths. Also during those incredible years of the 1980's in NYC she began studying with Susan Batson who opened creative doors she never knew existed. In 1994 she packed her bags and went to Los Angeles where she's lived ever since. Her plays 'The Happiest Man on Death Row', 'SnapShots' and 'The Birches' have achieved great success in Los Angeles and the screen version of The Birches is currently in discussion. She recently wrapped the TV sitcom 'The Plaza' and can be seen next in Jane Spencer's film 'South of Hope Street' with Michael Madsen.
