Zig Gauthier has been working in Hollywood as a producer and development executive in television, digital media, and film for decades. During this time, he has worked as a producer (tv/film/digital; some series credits listed below), network executive (VP level at NBC Universal's Syfy Channel, Fox Sports Net and GSN/Game Show Network), studio executive (Fox TV Studios) and entrepreneur (founder of boutique production company Red Varden Studios). Over the past 10-15 years, his focus has been primarily on producing content. Early in his producing career, Gauthier worked as a producer on such shows as Dancing With The Stars, Big Brother, Top Shot, Auction Hunters, Ghost Hunters, Marriage Boot Camp, Catch A Contractor, Tattoo Rescue, R&B Divas Los Angeles and many other successful series. More recently, he has evolved to more substantive content, including sports content, true crime content, and documentary television series and films. Among the highlights, Gauthier produced multiple seasons of the Oxygen hit series Killer Siblings. He also Created and Executive Produced the documentary sports film Hood River that debuted on HBO Max in 2021. For digital sports content company Overtime, Gauthier Created, Directed and Executive Produced the hit sports documentary series SUPERTEAM: Prolific Prep, following the story of the 2020 national championship-winning men's high school basketball team and star Jalen Green (later the #2 pick in NBA Draft, then NBA superstar). SUPERTEAM was nominated for branded digital sports series of the year. He has worked with such stars as Michael Strahan, John Cena, Chrissy Teigen, Justin Herbert, Deborah Norville, Tyler Henry, Jalen Green, and produced a branded digital series starring Kevin Hart. Gauthier also oversees production company Red Varden Studios, which develops and produces films, television and digital content. Gauthier has an undergraduate degree from UCLA in Political Science and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University. In addition to his work experience, Gauthier has also mentored hundreds of individuals from a diverse array of backgrounds, including more than 700 interns from 15+ countries. He is a former Board Member of the Newscorp. Diversity Advisory Board and a Diversity Committee Member of the TV Academy. He has been a featured speaker at NATPE, the WGA Non-Fiction Entertainment Panel, the South Korean International Animation Festival, Media Xchange, UCLA Extension's Entertainment Studies Program, and numerous colleges.
