Shonna Foster is an award-winning director, producer, and storyteller who is on a mission to Ieave the world a better place through the creative arts, the art of film and television, and through her commitment supporting the careers of emerging talent. Her career began at the age of 8 in front of the camera, when she was cast as the lead in the short film Gone A Foreign, written and directed by Annmarie Morais. She credits the experience of working with Morais, as the defining moment when she decided that she would continue to pursue her passion of storytelling through the creative arts. She received her B.F.A honors degree in Theatre from York University, where she studied in the Creative Ensemble Conservatory. Since graduating York, she has worked professionally as an actress, and as a business professional for award-winning production and distribution companies, contributing to her wealth of knowledge and experience in the film and television industry. Shonna made her directorial debut with the short film Residue, which screened at Reelworld Film Festival and has been featured on Breakfast Television, CHCH TV, CBC Arts, TO Indie and Black on Both Sides. The film was also licensed by the CBC for national broadcast and online streaming. She has also directed branded content for various companies across the Greater Toronto area and has a variety of producer credits on several short films.
