Camiel Zwart finished his study on the film academy as a director in 2006 with the film Amen. This documentary tells the story about two girls from a very religious church. The girls will start their studies and must leave their Christian village for God forsaken big city. The film shows how they try to survive there, without the support of their family. Immediately after his graduation Camiel started his one company, with his classmate (Sanne Cousijn) called Blackframe. They make there own film productions, and engage themselves to other companies. In 2007, this resulted in the music documentary Home Made about the band The Gathering. This film was brought out on DVD. Furthermore Camiel cooperated that year with the TV-film Landje, as assistant director and made the short documentary Otra Vez, concerning people in Honduras which have never seen film before. On the end of 2007 the first contact with Content Division, a production office in Hilversum, was made. For this company Camiel made the series KidsXL in which two primary schools, one from the Netherlands and one from a developing country, talk with each other and show their worlds. This cooperation continued in 2008, with the documentary Together Alone concerning the daily life in an orphanage in Ukraine. Furthermore Blackframe produced her first feature film called Rebuy. In 2009, Blackframe tries more and more to only focus on documentary. At this moment we are working on a 25 minutes documentary concerning the demolition of 0.5 km2 Amsterdam-North. On the and of 2009 he started wit the workshop Kids and Docs from the IDFA and this resulted in de award winning film proposal of Op Eigen Benen. The film was made in the summer of 2010 and shown on Cinekid and IDFA.
