Miyuki Sohara Based in Los Angeles and Japan, she has 20 years of experience as a TV announcer ,a radio DJ and Actress in Japan and the US. Representative works were announcers of broadcasting CX affiliated stations, reporters of Quiz shows of national broadcasting, host of FM radio of 6 hours live broadcasting twice a week, Dodgers Program on channel 18 as Japanese TV host in CA. From 2018, she will appear on Japanese news programs as a Japanese reporter for Oscar Governor's Ball every Year as Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture's Ambassador, and she will also start regular programs produced, directed and hosted by her. As Actor, she appeared in several film and TV dramas in Japan and the USA. She performed many Japanese mothers roles for films, TV and commercials , also Geisha Character in Last Samurai, Alias and Miko and TV Reporter character in Japan etc. She has also been involved in several major films and premier parties as a cultural consultant and coordinator, and is currently involved in several films as a producer and consultant for US-Japan collaborations. She is a member of LA Press Club, Woman IN Media, Japan American Society etc. She is always interested in new things. She is interested in the Space Industry and she received the certification about Space Executive Course from International Space University in Fall 2020. Miyuki produced, coordinated and consulted on many events and plays as well as both short and feature length films. Her director debut film was the feature documentary film Hannari about Kyoto Geisha in 2006. "Hannari -Geisha Modern" might be the first documentary which really penetrates the mysterious world of geisha and depicts its beauty. The director, Miyuki Sohara, hides a strong will behind her graceful attitude. Before the screening of the documentary at the United Nations, she shared how sincerely and passionately she feels about geisha culture. This film theatrical and DVD release and in all of Japan 2007. This film has been released in North America and England in 2020 by Amazon. She made a second film (first short live action) "Orizuru 2015" about Sadako's Crane and World Peace as the 70th Memorial after WW2 . This film selected the Hiroshima International Film Festival in 2015 as the Hiroshima Eye. Orizuru 2015 will be shown at the Laemmle Royal in a US Premiere from May 27, 2016 for one week about the final English Version. This date is the same as President Obama's historic visit to Hiroshima City. This is the first visit to the city by a sitting President of the United States. This film has been endorsed by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as an educational video and film, which promotes the study of International Affairs, History, Social Studies and World Peace.(Sep 7th 2016) She showed this movie as one of the International Peace Day events of the Japan-US High School Peace Conference held at the United Nations in New York, and Harvard University in MA Technology of Peace. This film was selected by the National Council for the Social Studies and this film has been shown at the 97th NCSS Annual Meeting conference in San Francisco, California in November,2017. Then Orizuru 2015 was released in North America and England in 2020 by Amazon, Vimeo and others.
