Oskar Metsavaht is a physician, designer and artist. Creator, art & style director of Osklen and also creative director of OM.art, his art and special projects studio. Medicine is his academic background. Self-taught designer, he developed his skills through practice in the creation of the brand Osklen, which is reference for its graphic iconography as well as for its stylistic elements of fashion, architecture, and interior design. In the last decade, Oskar used photography to record what inspired him for his collections. This image exercise helped to progress his personal art work. Oskar made his first individual exhibition, "Ipanema", during the Miami Art Basel, hosted by Sue Hostetler and Vik Muniz in 2011. He participated in a photographic project in honor of Oscar Niemeyer, in collaboration with Visionaire Magazine, in Montauk in 2012. He made individual exhibitions in the year of 2013 during BA PhotoArt, in the Centro Cultural Recoleta in Buenos Aires and in the Quintenz Gallery, in Aspen. In 2014, he exhibited his work "In California" in the Logo Gallery, in São Paulo as well as in ArteBA, in Buenos Aires, presented the exhibit "Elements of Style". He also took part in the collective exhibition "Made by...Feito por Brasileiros", in the Cidade Matarazzo in São Paulo with the work "Interfaces" which was inspired after an creative immersion in Inhotim - the largest nonprofit open air museum in the world who house important collections of contemporary art, in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais. Recently he presented his work "Interfaces II - Man, Cosmos & Forest" curated by Marc Pottier at the collective occupation "Ocupação Mauá", in Rio de Janeiro during the ArtRio fair with Carlos Vergara, Vik Muniz, Raul Mourão and others brazilian contemporary artists. In film and video, in the year 2008 he participated in and directed the film trilogy: "Surfing the Mountains", with exhibitions in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Aspen. His short-movies "Amazon Guardians", "Surfing the City" (2008), "Samba" (2009), "Ipanema" (2010) and "In California" (2013) were exhibited in the Fashion Film Festival in Los Angeles. He has been working on art-screening projects such as "A21", presented during the Creators Project of Intel/Vice and "Rio" for the Absolut Art Project.
