Steve Wilburn graduated with honors from Columbia College in 1988, with a Bachelors Degree in Film and Video Production. Steve served as a sound engineer for Zenith/db Sound working on dozens of feature films, documentaries, film shorts, and hundreds of commercials. Working as a freelancer, Steve was involved in dozens of film shorts. In 1996 he was associate producer on the feature film, Butch Camp. In 1999 and 2000, Steve served as producer and contributing producer, respectively, for two low budget independent films for Artistry & Rhythm Filmworks, Convergence With Angels, and Silence Over Exile. Convergence With Angels was voted best American "Dogma" film ever made. In his college days, Steve also began writing. Honing his skills throughout the years, he worked as a freelance writer on various film shorts and television proposals for producers. In 1997, Steve turned to feature film writing and has written several screenplays which have been finalists in screen writing competitions and one first place winner. One script placed Steve in the "Top 16 Emerging Screenwriters" contest (for drama) conducted by The International Screenwriter's Association in 2014. Since 1999, Steve has been a board member of the Chicago Screenwriters Network, leading meetings, screenplay discussions, and providing screenplay feedback. Steve is a member of the Independent Feature Project (IFP), the Independent Producers Alliance (IPA) and multiple screenwriting groups. In 2013, Steve opened an independent production company, Windy City Images, assembling the best filmmakers in Chicago to make top quality films. Steve and Windy City Images are working on a slate of films that are in various stages of production.
