Steve was born and raised in Austin, Texas where he currently resides with his wife, Betsy, and two children, Taylor and Collin. Steve first started making films when he received his first Super 8 camera for Christmas at the age of 14. In addition to filmmaking, Steve had an interest in acting since childhood and became involved with Jo Edna Boldin's Third Coast Casting, where he landed roles as an extra in several productions, including D.O.A., starring Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan. He attended the University of Texas film school for two years, but decided to focus on writing and transferred to St. Edwards' University where he majored in English. Upon graduation, Steve embarked on a writing career, working as a writer/editor for several community newspapers and co-founding South Padre Island's Coastal Current in 1990. When he moved back to Austin in 2002, he returned to his first love of filmmaking, writing and directing his first feature, "Wake Up, Herbert." Next, he collaborated with Greg Dorchak on a short entitled Soccer Mom. Soccer Mom went on the festival circuit and was nominated for Best Action Short and Best Actress at the 2008 Digital Video and High Def Film Festival in Los Angeles. Steve and Greg teamed up a second time on a feature, Code Enforcer, scheduled to go into production in the fall of 2008.
