Director and Producer Nina Najjar was born in 1985 to a Korean-American Mother and a Lebanese Father. She grew up in the post-war Beirut where she was exposed to different ways of looking at urban life and its relationship to the arts. As a teenager, Nina filmed her first two short movies and decided to enroll in a film school at ALBA (Academie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts). On the day of graduation day, the Lebanese War happened in the summer of 2006. Nina moved to New York where she lived 3 years concentrating of her own writings. In 2009, Nina moved back to Lebanon where she worked as a Producer on TV commercials for Advertising Agencies and direct clients with several Production Houses. Her knowledge in production led her into Directing her first TV commercials, Corporates and Awareness Clips. Her Web-series entitled Mamnou3 won the first prize at the Geneva International Film Festival for best Online Web-series. In 2015, the animated short-movie directed by Ely Dagher which she co-produced won the Palm D'Or at Cannes Film Festival and continuous to tour the world and receive awards. Today, Nina is based between Los Angeles and Beirut where she concentrates on her writings around social and human rights through shorts, commercials and feature-length stories.
