Starting in 1945 Joe Bonica ran the "Movie-Of-The-Month Club" offering 16mm Sound and 8mm Silent films to home movie enthusiasts. The run times varied from 3 minutes to 10 minutes. Because the number of home movie projector owners was limited, Joe's business model was offer a new title each month, thus the club name. Re-prints were rare, films were only available while stock was available. Films of Atomic Bomb Tests were so popular they kept getting re-printed when stock ran out. The official distributor of these films is listed on the boxes as Movie Newsreels, Hollywood California. The Atomic Bomb film seems to be the only Newsreel worthy film he released, the bulk of the output were Musical Sounds. Another popular film was a silent Keystone Comedy called ""Gymnasium Jim" and ran a full 10 minutes. Based on catalog numbers on the boxes, at least 158 releases. Also as early as 1945 Joe Bonica produced Nudie Girlie Films for Variety Films. Distribution was likely kept secret due to state obscenity laws. He must have been successful as he continued releasing these through the 1965.
