Ted is a freelance director, editor and general all round filmmaker based in Hackney, London. The End, Ted's second short film, a docu-drama charting the fictional decline of deaf culture, explores a subject that has been debated all over the world. To date it has won seven international awards and continues to enjoy success on the festival circuit. The response received from audiences has inspired and motivated Evans to pursue his filmmaking career further. Retreat, Ted's most recent film, has so far picked up two awards (and a best actor award) and is still screening and competing at further international film festivals in 2014. In 2012 Ted directed two films for the Paralympic Opening Ceremony, Look Up and Bird Gherl. These films were watched by over 80,000 people in the Olympic Stadium, it was one of the highlights of his career so far.
