Jaclyn Strez grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. She moved to the city of Detroit to study acting at Wayne State University in 2003 and traveled to Russia in 2006 to study at the Moscow Art Theater School (MXAT). Upon graduation from Wayne, she began performing at PuppetART - Detroit Puppet Theater in 2008, where she continues a repertoire of classic folklore from around the world. She was a participant for seven years in BoxFest Detroit, a festival of women directors, winning Best Director in 2012. Her concentration on film began in 2010 and includes work as a co-producer, costumer, writer, editor and of course actress. She took on directing and editing a Detroit-original sitcom called "Lambert Street" for it's first season in 2013. Jaclyn has been nominated three times for Detroit's Rogue Critic Awards in Theatrical Performance and has also been nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Short Film (Best Girlfriends) and Best Lead Actress in a Feature Film (Detroit Winter) for the Michigan Film Awards in 2011 and 2012. She was named in 2013 by CBS Detroit as one of the Top 5 Directors on Stage in Detroit.
