Lucas Belkind

Director | Actor
Date of birth : 05/12/1986
City of birth : Chicago, Illinois, USA

Lucas Belkind grew up in the desert oasis of Phoenix, Arizona with the childhood dream of becoming either Steven Spielberg or Indiana Jones. He decided to combine the two and to move to Los Angeles in 2004. Four years later, he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with a BA in Visual Anthropology (Documentary Filmmaking), an emphasis in Film Production, and a minor in theatre. During this time, he also entertained millions as he traveled across the United States (and the world) as a drum line member of the USC "Spirit of Troy" Marching Band, starred in the "Most Creative Film" at the 2004 Ed Wood Film Festival, co-hosted an AM radio show, was a USC liaison for Special Events for Disney, won nearly $10,000 in prizes on "The Price is Right," and produced a nearly $100,000 35mm independent short film. Upon leaving USC, he began work at Principato-Young Entertainment - first as a personal intern for Paul Young, then as an assistant to the President of Production, Matt Berenson. Though greatly enjoying his time there, he left in 2009 to pursue a Masters program in Visual Anthropology (Documentary Filmmaking) at the University of Manchester in Manchester, England. Since his return to the United States in late 2010, Belkind has worked on various productions in a wide variety of media formats both freelance and with Planet C Studios, where he is an editor and head of Post-Production. He has had the pleasure of working on independent feature films, shorts, television commercials, digital media, reality television, conventions, theme park attractions for Universal Studios theme parks across the world, and interactive experiences at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood in Burbank, California. He is also the Creative Supervisor for "Horror Made Here" at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood.
