Sona Houck

Sona Houck was born in communist Czechoslovakia (in today's Slovakia) to the parents of two physicians. At 15 she began to work as a professional model. She quickly became a major global model. Later Sona attended Inalco University in Paris and majored in French, Russian and Mid-Oriental civilizations. She is native-fluent in 5 languages; Slovak, Czech, French, Russian and English. A professional model for 17 years she was represented by Elite-Paris, Metropolitan-Paris, Ford-America and Elite-America and worked with such photographic legends as Patrick Demarchelier. Her photos have appeared in every major fashion magazine in France, including "Vogue", "Marie Claire", "Cosmopolitan" and "Elle". In 2000, Sona met her husband, writer and producer Jim Houck in Paris when Jim was in town working on a novel. Sona later moved to Los Angeles with Jim and they were married on his ranch in Kansas in 2003. They have two children and reside in Miami.
