Maria Teresa was two years old and on a public tour of Sampaguita Pictures when director Mar S. Tores noticed her and invited her mother to allow the precocious young girl to be allowed to join the film. Scenes were re-written and little "Bingbing" became a flash-in-the-pan movie sensation. She went on to star in several milk commercials before she relocated to Canada at the age of six. She now works as curator of the Diefenbaker Canada Centre in Saskatoon Canada.
