Deen Lee Dillon Fredericks was born on May 30,1979 in Cape Town, South Africa as Lee Dillon Fredericks. He is known for his work on Dredd (2012), Mad Dogs (2011) and Rendition (2007). In the apartheid years, Deen's father was a government employee and part time photographer and his mother, a clerk. When Deen was 5 years old he won a singing competition along with his brother aged 8, they sang Michael Jackson's Billy Jean. His father taught him how to use a camera and how to develop film at age 12. In 1996, age 16 he volunteered to work at a community radio station. He would go on to Co present the weekend Top 40 show in his graduation year. In 2000 he joined a Campus Radio Station hosting multiple shows under the alias Maverick Stone. In 2003 he landed an adhoc show with a commercial radio station. In 2004 he was cast as a featured extra in _Lord of War (2005)_(qv ) but was uncredited. 2006 - 2007 he studied acting for theatre but then dropped out. He started singing at a Theatrical Diner, singing Blues, Rock and Roll and Rhythm and Blues. Deen has also worked on two short films for the 48 hour film project, one which he directed and the other he was an actor. Deen has done his fair share of volunteering on various projects. On one occasion he won a bicycle for singing at an event in 2008. In 2009 he started singing Jazz at a venue at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town. Since 2010 he has worked behind the scenes in various departments but still pursues an acting career. He has written scripts for online adverts in Cape Town and to the Jameson One Shot Competition. He plays the piano to relax and creates various furniture and jewelry out of recycled materials in his spare time.
