Aric Jackson was born in Chicago, IL and raised in and around the south Chicagoland area, the son of a Chicago Police Officer and registered nurse. Jackson planned on pursuing a career in law enforcement but decided to study his passion for film graduating with honors with a B.A. in film studies from Grand Valley University (2006) followed by a Master's degree in cinema studies from DePaul University. In 2011 Jackson produced the award-winning film Older Children (2012), but it was the film A Place to Be (2017) that garnered Jackson with multiple awards for both producing and editing. Jackson works as the Executive Director for the production company Iconoclast Films with co-founder Tadeo Garcia. Jackson is often producing and directing for ad agencies throughout the Midwest and East Coast markets and is slated to direct two feature films in 2019 and 2020.
