Born in Boston, Kate grew up in Lexington, MA, before moving to Chicago to attend DePaul Theatre School, where she was the first to student in the acting conservatory to double major (BA philosophy). At age 16, Kate began creating and performing farcical opening acts for the punk-cabaret rock band, The Dresden Dolls; and was also the youngest to study at Richard Foreman's Ontological-Hysteric Theater for their Blueprint Series in New York City. In Chicago, after attending The Second City, she wrote and produced a musical parody which led her to study and perform improv comedy. After moving to Los Angeles, she began studying at The Upright Citizen Brigade and formed the multimedia sketch and improv team, The Flashlites. In addition to performing regularly around town, Kate has co-written, produced and acted in three short films with The Flashlites; as well as co-creating the weekly comedy show, CAMP!, and the monthly variety show, Shut Up & Enjoy. In January 2013, The Flashlites began pre-production for their first feature film.
